Fiat Freemont with AWD all-wheel drive

Fiat has just a new variant of Freemont model with all-wheel drive. According to the manufacturer, now Fiat Freemont combines all the advantages of an SUV, station wagon and drive a roomy MPV.

The new Fiat Freemont AWD power transmitted to both axles via six-speed automatic transmission comes with a 2-liter engine MultiJet2 the 170 hp or 3.6-liter petrol V6 with 280 hp. The new drive is a technologically sophisticated and fully automated system that allows the driver to maintain control of the vehicle even in extreme conditions.

The system works on demand and is equipped with an electronic control unit that checks for traction and decides when to transfer power to the rear axle. The system intervenes when the surface on which moves Fiat Freemont does not guarantee good adhesion (which is covered with mud, ice or snow). Electronic system modifies the transmission of torque due to frictional clutch wielotarczowemu (ECC). Since the system operates only on demand, the system does not cause excessive fuel consumption. The control unit also works with ESP and traction control.
